University of Waterloo Presents: If the Earth Could Sing: University Choir & Chamber Choir Concert

Programme

The feature piece will be performed by the 60 voice University Choir, directed by Liska Jetchick.  Composed by Katherina Gimon, Unsung: If the Earth Could Sing is a five-movement work for choir, cello, and percussion. Through the lens of various geological landscapes of Canada, it addresses the impact of the environmental crisis, as it seeks to address the question: "If the earth could sing, what would it tell us?"  Gimon’s work is both a celebration of nature’s beauty and a call to action.

  2. Grand Lac (Great Lakes – Central Canada)

  3. Grassland (Prairie Provinces)

  4. Mountain Range (Canadian Rockies)

  5. Glacier (Western Canada)

The 30 voice Chamber Choir, directed by Mark Vuorinen, will sing a wide assortment of pieces. 

Tickets

Tickets will be available from choristers or at the door. $10 general, $5 students
